The first thing that Marcus noticed was a cold sensation at
his back. He shifted slightly and met some resistance. Still in the
dark, he gathered in bits and pieces he was on a metal table, he was
naked, and something padded yet strong restrained him.

Fluorescent lamps flickered to life above him. The darkness was banished by eye-searing light, Marcus flinching away from it.
